Is It Safe to Buy a Facebook or Instagram Account in Nigeria?

It is safe to buy a Facebook or Instagram account in Nigeria when the seller has logged into the account before listing it, tells you exactly what is included, delivers the login privately and gives you time to check it before the sale is final. It is not safe when any of those four is missing, however low the price.

What the platforms say

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X all have terms that restrict buying, selling or transferring accounts. That does not make the purchase illegal in Nigeria, but it means the platform can restrict or close a transferred account if it notices unusual activity: a sudden change of country, a password reset from a new device, or a burst of posting. Any honest seller will say this plainly. Rediprofiles says it on its disclosures page.

Is it safe to buy a Facebook account? The checklist before you pay

  • The listing names the year and country. An aged Facebook account registered in 2012 from the USA behaves differently from a 2025 account. Vague listings hide problems.
  • Email and 2FA are stated. "Email included" and "2FA" mean you can fully secure the account. "No 2FA" means a plain login.
  • Payment goes through something you can dispute. Bank transfer, USSD or card through a Nigerian gateway such as Korapay, or an escrow wallet on a peer-to-peer site. Never a direct transfer to a stranger's personal account.
  • Delivery is to a dashboard, not a chat. Login details sent over WhatsApp can be seen and reused.
  • There is a review window. Rediprofiles gives 30 minutes after delivery to report any issue in live chat. Other sites use escrow release. No window at all is a red flag.

Is it safe to buy an Instagram account? What is different

Instagram is stricter about login location than Facebook. Accounts sold with followers attract more attention than aged accounts with few posts, so the first session matters most. Log in from one device, through a VPN set to the account's country if the listing names one, change the password, and leave the profile alone for a day before posting. Buy IG accounts from a seller who states the follower band and the age in the listing, not one who promises growth.

What to do in the first 30 minutes after you buy

  1. Log in once, on the device you will keep using.
  2. Change the password and, if the email is included, change the email password too.
  3. Check that what the listing promised is there: followers, pages, 2FA codes.
  4. Report anything missing to the seller inside the review window.
  5. Do not post, follow in bulk or change the username on day one.

Red flags that mean walk away

  • Prices far below everyone else's for the same type of account.
  • A seller who will only deal by WhatsApp or Telegram and only take a personal bank transfer.
  • Words like guaranteed or ban-proof. No seller controls what a platform does after delivery.
  • No written review or refund window.

The honest answer

Buying a Facebook or Instagram account in Nigeria is safe in the same way buying a used phone is safe: from a seller who checked it, shows you what you are getting and gives you time to test it. The platforms' own rules are the one risk no seller can remove, so buy from a site that states that risk, use the review window, and secure the account the moment it is yours.
